Templates
Start with built-in templates and, with Pro, promote, use, demote, or delete an owned custom template.

Built-in templates
Built-in résumé and cover-letter templates are available to everyone, including signed-out users. Choose File → New, select a template, review the preview, and choose Use this Template. The new document is an independent copy.
Built-in templates are maintained with the editor and cannot be overwritten by a user’s document. You can change the copied document’s structure, content, fonts, page size, and CSS.
Promote a cloud document to a custom template
Pro Custom-template operations require an active subscription and an owned saved cloud document.
- Open the saved cloud résumé you want to reuse.
- Choose File → Mark as template.
- Confirm the document selector shows the Template indicator.
- Open File → New to find it in the custom-template group.
Marking a document as a template changes its current template status; it does not create a second source document. Revision history remains content history and does not change the current template flag when an older revision is restored.
Use a custom template
Select the custom template from File → New and create a copy. The new document starts from the saved template version but is a normal résumé. Editing or saving the new résumé does not modify the source template, and later source-template changes do not rewrite existing copies.
Custom templates are also available to authorized AI-assistant template workflows. Only owned cloud templates appear there; built-in definitions are not silently promoted to the account.
Demote or delete a template
- File → Unmark as template returns the source to a normal cloud résumé. Existing copies remain unchanged.
- Delete is a separate, explicit document action. It removes the source document and its eligible history after confirmation.
If Pro access becomes inactive, retained custom templates are not available for paid preview, use, or editing until access is restored. Built-in templates remain available.
