Experiencer documentation
Getting started
Create, import, edit, and save a first résumé without losing track of where it is stored.
Last reviewed:
Create from a template
- Open Experiencer and choose New Resume or File → New.
- Select a built-in template and review its preview.
- Choose Use this Template. Built-in templates are available without an account.
- Select text in the résumé preview to edit it, or use the structure and CSS sidebars for larger layout changes.
The template is a starting point. Creating a résumé from it produces an independent document; later edits do not alter the built-in template.
Load an existing file
Choose File → Load to import an Experiencer JSON file. Experiencer validates the document before replacing the active editor content. A JSON export from this editor is the most reliable portable backup and can be loaded on another device.
Experiencer is not a general DOCX or PDF importer. If the source is a PDF or word-processing document, create a résumé from a template and transfer the content deliberately so you can check structure and reading order.
Make the first edits
- Select a field in the résumé to edit its value.
- Use the tree sidebar to select sections, rows, columns, entries, and page breaks.
- Use the editing toolbar to add, move, duplicate, or remove supported nodes.
- Use the CSS sidebar for document-authored style changes.
- Choose a page size before doing final pagination work.
See Editing and layout for the structural model and its constraints.
Save deliberately
File → Save saves through the active document repository:
- A local document is stored in this browser.
- A signed-in Pro cloud document is saved to the account and advances its saved version.
File → Save As downloads an Experiencer JSON file. Use it for a portable backup even when the working document is also stored locally or in the cloud.
If the top navigation shows a save or sync status, wait for it to settle before closing the page. Unsaved editor changes are not part of cloud revision history, temporary review links, or MCP review context.
